Please note: As of December 5th, 2023, the heatsink color will be silver (non-anodized) instead of black, due to supply chain constraints. If you need black, please contact us through the contact page at the top of the website.
The E3D v6 recently turned 6. To celebrate, we wanted to do something special to honor the HotEnd that spawned a whole ecosystem. Enter the Ultimate Edition.
Why is it called the Ultimate Edition? It's simple.
We've swapped each component where possible with the very best genuine E3D upgrades available to create the ultimate version of the v6.
See the diagram and components list below to see what's been upgraded.
All of the following upgrades use exclusively genuine E3D parts.
Ultimate Edition Black Anodized Heatsink
We’ve upgraded the heatsink with black anodizing done locally here in Atlanta, Ga., making it a bit sleeker if we do say so ourselves.
Nickel-Plated Alloy Heater Block
We’ve swapped the standard aluminum heater block for E3D's nickel-plated alloy block, reducing the chance of filament sticking to it and improving thermal conductivity. Copper also withstands heat better than aluminum, retaining strength at much higher temperatures.
Nozzle X
The standard brass nozzle has been replaced by E3D's Nozzle X. Whereas brass nozzles can be worn down and even ruined by abrasive materials, Nozzle X is comprised from a special alloy of tool steel to make it immensely hard. And it has E3D's WS2 ‘polyphobic’ nano coating, reducing instances of hot molten polymers sticking to your nozzle.
40W High-Precision Heater Cartridge
We’ve swapped standard heaters for E3D's high-precision, quick-release heater cartridges. Spot-on physical dimensions and electrical specifications guarantee perfect performance. Quick-release also makes tinkering with your HotEnd an easy task.
Titanium Heat Break
We've replaced the standard stainless steel heat break with E3D's Titanium upgrade. This Heat Break is made from Grade 5 Titanium, making it exceptionally strong with a lower thermal conductivity than stainless steel. That allows you to keep the cold side of your HotEnd even colder, creating a more sharply-defined meltzone within the hot side for greater extrusion control than stainless steel.
