PZ Probe™ is E3D's compact bed levelling system that comes equipped with a compatible PZ Board to allow users to integrate contact probing into existing setups beyond the Revo ecosystem.

Whether it's for a 3D printing application or something entirely different - this kit gives you flexibility with two different communication methods (12C, UART) and allows for triggering on the compression or expansion of the piezoelectric element. Imagine using your PZ washer to probe with an integrated extruder, use it as an X, Y or Z probe or measure tool offsets with a tool changer!

Designed specifically for use with the Voron Stealthburner, Revo PZ Probe ™ Voron integrates a bed levelling system inside a Revo Voron Heatsink, transforming your Revo nozzle into a bed probe - all within the same form factor.

Easy PZ Probing

PZ Probe is a piezoelectric element which converts vibrations into electrical signals and is triggered upon contact between the nozzle and the print bed. With PZ Probe you only need to calibrate your z offset once to accommodate for flexibility in your motion system, after that simply screw in (with only your fingers) a new nozzle, and PZ Probe does all the hard work for you.... Easy PZ!

Lightweight

Weighing in under 40g including the heatsink & cables, PZ Probe ensures that this set-up is significantly lighter than any other Stealthburner tool head and bed levelling sensor combo.

Perfect first layer

Using the Revo nozzle as probe ensures a precise bed levelling mesh, leading to a clean first layer, the pre-requisite of any successful 3D print.

Easy Integration

The only new part to add to your existing Stealthburner set-up is a Flat Flex Cable, read more here about this super simple step. Note that you will need 2 extra printed parts if you opt for this mount.

FAQ:

  • Can I use PZ Probe with other Revo HotEnds?
    • PZ Probe was specifically designed to be paired with the customised Voron heatsink. It is possible to integrate the PZ Probe into other Hotends, however this is not something that we officially support.
  • Can I use PZ Probe in applications other than 3D printing?
    • Theoretically yes, but we do not officially support applications outside 3D printing.
  • Can PZ Probe be disassembled?
    • No, disassembling PZ Probe products voids your warranty. This is because both parts of the Voron heatsink were precisely assembled in house to a specific torque. Taking it apart will negatively affect the impact sensitivity.
  • How flexible is the flat flex cable?
    • It is flexible enough to accommodate Voron's toolhead setup. However, prolonged extreme bending can damage the internal structure. You should always apply strain relief!
  • How long are the extension wires?
    • 1.5m
  • Is it a drop-in replacement?
    • Yes, PZ Probe is a drop-in replacement for the Voron StealthBurner but it's not quite plug-and-play - an aptitude for light configuring may be required as sensitivity may need to be adjusted depending on your setup.
